As viewers wait to find out, Daily Star takes a closer look inside the life of Laurence Reeves star Robert Shaw Cameron.
Forgotten soap roles
While Robert has certainly made an impression in Coronation Street as Laurence Reeves, fans may also recognise the star from a number of other soap roles.
The actor made his first debut TV appearance in EastEnders spin off, Ricky and Bianca, in 2002 as Gerry, before landing a role in Holby City as Dominic Wooton.
That’s not all, as one year later, he also appeared in Heartbeat as Joe Stanwyck.
Laurence Reeves isn’t Robert’s first Coronation Street character either, as he also played a policeman in the ITV soap in 2011.
However, he now stepped back onto the cobbles to play Sean Tully’s love interest, with him and Sean actor Anthony Cotton sharing a sweet selfie behind the scenes.
Antony took to Twitter to share a snap of the pair together at Coronation Street’s recent summer party, with the actor writing: “This one may be a keeper… @itvcorrie @ITV #RobShawCameron #Shaw #Laurence.”
Basil Brush link
Away from the soaps, Robert turned his talents to comedy when he had a stint alongside TV legend Basil Brush.
In the relaunched CBBC series, Robert played Dominic in a 2004 episode of the popular children’s programme.
However, it appears to be the star’s only comedy stint, with the actor returning to dramas including Ghosts and The Bill in 2007, where he played Oswald Alving and Andy Sharp respectively.

Away from our TV screens, Robert also works as a director for theatre productions across the UK.
As well as a stint working as the Assistant Director of Birmingham Repertory Theatre, the star has also directed productions at the Sheffield Crucible, Embassy Theatre London, Storyhouse Chester and at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre.
His direction of The Borrowers was described as having “ingenuity and inventiveness” woven throughout the show by The Stage, while The Observer said of his production of On Queen Coal: “Shaw Cameron’s economic direction conveys maximum impact”, before awarding it four stars.
The star also gushed about his job during an interview with Stratford East, saying: “Theatre is an incredibly special medium.
“Working with people who have such a range of talents is a privilege and if you trust and empower each other, you can make work that is greater than the sum of its parts.”
Personal life

Away from Coronation Street, Robert tends to keep his personal life private, and it is not known if the star is single or in a relationship.
However, he has become a regular face on the red carpet, appearing alongside his Coronation Street co-stars at events including the National Television Awards 2022.
During an interview with Stratford East however, he did reveal what career he would be doing, if he didn’t work in acting or theatre.
He said: “I love sport and would love to be a commentator, travelling the world watching the big matches. Or work in politics.”
