Peter Kay fans have said they are “gutted” that his long-awaited comeback tour doesn’t seem to include any southern stops.
The Phoenix Nights legend has not been in the spotlight much since 2017, when he called off a string of shows due to “unforeseen family circumstances”.
But he’s now announced that he will be hitting the road for an all-new live stand-up tour.

He will play dates in Manchester and Birmingham this year, then next year has lined up shows in places including Liverpool, Dublin, Glasgow and Belfast.
While fans are thrilled to see the star making his comeback and said it was “the best news”, many were disappointed that he wouldn’t be coming further south.
“How is there no southern shows?” one tweeted.
Another posted: “When they say southern why does it always stop at Bristol/Cardiff and doesn’t come down to the proper south.”
“What about us southerners?” one asked, while another posted: “Where’s London??”
“Gutted no London dates,” said someone else.
Another remarked: “Birmingham’s my closest date and it’s 4 hours away, compared to London which is only 2. I can’t get the time off work that short notice to make that journey as I need to give 12 weeks notice.”
But someone else remarked: “Everyone crying about no London date. I love it.
“He’s a Northern comic, get yourselves up here for a night in one the North’s many amazing cities ala Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds. Make a weekend of it? There’s plenty to see and do.”
Car Share star Peter, 49, was last scheduled to begin touring in 2018.
