Martin Lewis 'rolls eye' at I'm A Celeb and admits he's 'turned it down more than once'

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! was back with a bang over the weekend with millions of Brits tuning in to watch the celebs get down and dirty in the Australian jungle.

However, the latest episode didn’t go down too well with Martin Lewis, who took to Twitter to share his thoughts – and he didn’t hold back.

After two years in Wales, the popular ITV show finally returned to Australia on Sunday for its brand-new series.

Fans of the show were overjoyed to see the 10 new contestants make their way into the Aussie jungle.

But it seems fellow celeb Martin Lewis wasn’t too impressed.

Martin took to Twitter to slam the I’m A Celeb stars

Taking to Twitter, Martin slammed the celebs who claim they “don’t know” what they’re doing on the show, saying the comment left him “rolling his eyes.”

The Good Morning Britain presenter also admitted he had turned down appearing on the show “more than once” as he told fans he would “never” take part.

He wrote to his 1.9 million followers: “I do roll my eyes when I hear ‘I don’t know what I’m doing here’ on #ImACeleb. It’s an entertainment TV booking.

“You’re on there for one or more of… 1) a paycheque 2) to boost your profile 3) to rehabilitate your image. Simples.”

The Money Saving Expert said he ‘rolls his eyes’ at the show

Shortly after posting, one Twitter user hit out at Martin, writing: “Hmmm… sounds a bit bitter & jealous you haven’t been asked!“

Martin, who is no stranger to replying to trolls, revealed that he had turned down the offer multiple times to appear on the show.

“Not bitter. Not jealous. Have been asked, more than once. Enjoy watching the show. Wouldnt enjoy being on it,” he wrote.

The latest series premiered last night on ITV

Among the other stars taking part this year are former MP Matt Hancock, Coronation Street legend Sue Cleaver and DJ Chris Moyles.

A Place In The Sun host Scarlette Douglas, Loose Women’s Charlene White, Gogglebox’s Babatunde Aleshe, Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner and comedian Seann Walsh are also taking part.

I’m A Celebrity continues tonight on ITV at 9pm
