Mr Hancock’s decision to agree to the show has received a bitter backlash from celebrities and the general public alike, but he insisted he wants to change the public’s view about politicians like him.

And former BBC Breakfast host Dan became the latest star to comment on his stint, taking to Instagram and Twitter with a bold suggestion for the MP.

He wrote: “I’ve thought about this overnight and it’s clear that a lot of people are finding it very difficult to watch Matt Hancock on #ImACeleb.”

The broadcaster went on to propose Matt hangs up his jungle gear and leave the show, but not without donating his whopping £400k fee to the NHS.

In a follow up tweet, Dan explained his tweet wasn’t to do with “anger” and that people feel it is “too soon” to see the politician on the TV after the lockdown.

“If his motivation really is to show he’s a ‘normal human’ then he could send a powerful message.”

A whopping 7.9million punters tuned in to see Hancock enter the jungle with a peak of 9.1million.
