Strictly finalist AJ Odudu 'in final talks' with ITV for Big Brother presenting gig

Big Brother fans will be delighted to hear that presenter AJ Odudu is allegedly “in final talks” to be the next ITV host.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star co-hosted the spin off show, Bit On The Side, and may be progressing up to the main show for the new reboot series.

A source told The Sun: “AJ has been offered the Big Brother job and jumped at the opportunity. It’s a huge boost to her career. AJ and ITV are still ironing out details in her contract but she has told a lot of people the job is hers.”

However, an ITV spokesperson confirmed: “All suggestions surrounding the host are speculation at this stage.”

Odudu was reportedly in the running alongside ITV legend and former housemate Alison Hammond, The Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack and Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope.

AJ’s career has skyrocketed in recent years and competed in Strictly Come Dancing back in 2021.

She also hosted Married At First UK’s spin-off show Unveiled so presenting Big Brother will no doubt come easily to her.

AJ was recently snapped with former Big Brother presenter Emma Wills at the National Television Awards.

Before Emma, Davina McCall presented from 2000 to 2010 while the show was on Channel 4.

Dedicated fans will have to wait a while for the show’s expected return as it is rumoured to begin in Autumn, rather than the planned launch date in March.

ITV bosses decided to push the show back due to a number of hugely popular reality shows airing at the start of the year, such as Winter Love Island and the brand new All Stars I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! season.

Big Brother came to an end in 2018 and fans have been waiting patiently for it to return to our screens ever since.

ITV audiences had a huge surprise during the Love Island finale episode back in August when a cryptic advertisement played.

It showed the Big Brother eye logo and played the classic theme tune, which confirmed that the early 2000s smash hit was set to make a return sometime soon.
