I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fans took to Twitter to defend A Place in the Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas after her campmate Babatunde Aleshe appeared to ‘put down’ her new career plans.
During Monday night’s episode, Scarlette told resident comedians Seann Walsh and Babatunde that she’d been eyeing up a move to the stand-up comedy industry.
“So guys, be honest, do you think I could have a career in comedy?”, she asked the comedians.

Babatunde harshly replied: “No, definitely not.”
“No? I think I’m naturally funny…You’ve laughed at me many times Baba”, Scarlette said back, seemingly embarrassed.
Babatunde returned: “I’ve laughed at you, sometimes I look at you and I’m like ha ha ha and I get on with my day, tell us a joke.”
Despite Scarlette’s exciting news, fans thought Babatunde’s feedback was too harsh and unwarranted and took to Twitter to share their views on the exchange.
One wrote: “Not enjoying Babatunde’s constant putting down of Scarlette. You won’t die if you say something nice dude. #ImACelebrity”.
“If Scarlette is serious about doing comedy, I wouldn’t be asking Babatunde and Seann for advice. #ImACeleb”, another wrote.
Later on in the conversation, Babatunde attempted to take on Scarlette’s role, assuming it would be ‘easy’.
“How hard is it to learn about property? There’s a door, a hallway, you just go in,” Babatunde claimed before a shocked Scarlette replied: “Wow, then we can swap.”
Babatunde’s failed attempted was booed by Seann and Scarlette and later dissed by fans on Twitter.
“#imaceleb Not Babatunde telling scarlet her job isn’t hard when his career basically started as ‘the friend of’ on Gogglebox”, one tweeted.
Another laughed: “Loving Babatunde epically failing at doing a basic TV intro after what he said to Scarlette!! #imaceleb”.
