Presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have teased the arrival of late contestant on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

During the latest instalment of the popular ITV series, the Geordie duo seemed to insinuate that the famous Daily Star lettuce which they’ve named Spud could be joining the show as the new “camp leader”.

The famous iceberg lettuce which outlasted the former Prime Minister Liz Truss, now has a red I’m A Celeb jacket and shiny blue boots to match his playful appearance.

But as the presenters spoke fondly of Spud, who they believe may be able to outrun Matt Hancock as the camp leader, viewers couldn’t get enough of the hysterical act and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One viewer penned: “Spud the lettuce for the win.”

Another joked: “What does the lettuce do after the show? Looks like it’s off out clubbing…”

A third penned: “Spud the lettuce has had one hell of a glow up.”

Meanwhile a fourth viewer added: “Spud the lettuce has me CRYING.”

Since Olivia Attwood’s abrupt exit from the show after her one day appearance, fans have been questioning whether another celebrity will replace her.

The Love Island star left the the ITV show on medical grounds and left fans speculating if something was seriously wrong with her.

With pregnancy rumours circulating, Olivia opened up on the reason why she had to leave the programme immediately while appearing on ITV’S daytime show, This Morning.

Talking to presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Olivia explained that her iron levels were considered to be too low.

Explaining the situation in more detail, she said: “It was late at night and they said going back into camp tonight wouldn’t work so I went to a hotel and, as I now know, conversations went right through the night.

“Production were obviously desperate to have me back in, but the medical team…it’s an insurance thing.

“I think because they have those readings and they have to go and seek other opinions, third party opinions, it’s like a collective decision.”
