I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Mike Tindall’s best friend has defended his pal after he made a controversial comment about politicians while in the jungle.
Former rugby star and I’m A Celeb alum James Haskell appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside presenters Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley to discuss his friend’s comment.
While in camp, Tindall was recorded saying “all politicians are [bleep]” – but it is unknown exactly what the sports star said.

As Mike is married to Zara, who is a member of the royal family, questions were raised as to whether he should have commented on politics.
However, James stepped up to defend his pal and claimed that he “isn’t a working royal”.
Haskell explained: “He would have had to get all sorts of permission to do that, but he isn’t a serving, not a working royal, Zara’s not a working royal. I think he’s entitled to do what he wants to do, I don’t disagree with his view on politicians by the way, but I won’t repeat it.”
He continued: “I think, actually, it’s not King Charles talking about it, it’s not Prince William talking about it, it’s not those people making those statements. It’s somebody so far removed making a comment.”
Mike was accused of breaking royal protocol by commenting on politics as members of the Royal Family usually remain neutral so as not to sway the public opinion.
However, the 44-year-old was not born into the House of Windsor.
Mike married Zara, who is the eldest niece of King Charles III but does not partake in royal duties.
Tindall’s comments may hint towards his feelings towards campmate Matt Hancock, who was a late arrival to the series.
The former health secretary’s appearance in the jungle created huge backlash from the public and some of his co-stars.
In particular, Loose Women host Charlene White questioned him and asked why he decided to go on the show.
Matt has defended himself and claims he is asking for “a bit of forgiveness”.
When asked why he “broke his own Covid-19 guidelines,” Hancock admitted that he “fell in love” with his former aide Gina Colangelo.
