Jonnie Irwin has revealed his devastation after being axed from A Place in the Sun after 20 years.
The presenter fronted more than 200 shows for the property programme for two decades – but Channel 4 chose not to renew his contract.
Jonnie, who also stars in Escape to the Country, recently revealed he is suffering from terminal cancer and said he is unsure how long he has left to live – back in 2020 doctors only gave him six months.

The 48-year-old said: “The Escape to the County team was brilliant. I wanted to work and I needed to work for my own well-being and to provide for my family, they couldn’t have done more to help me.

However, APITS dropping him was “psychologically a big blow” because he “had been with the show for almost two decades”.
Jonnie opened up to Hello! magazine about his tragic diagnosis and how heartbroken he is about the prospect of leaving his wife Jessica and three sons, Rex, three and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
He didn’t want to keep cancer a “dirty secret” and said he got the first inkling that something wasn’t right when his vision went blurry when driving.

He then discovered he had the disease just a week after filming for the APITS wrapped in Italy.
Jonnie said: “I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much.
“That was devastating. All I could do was apologise to her. I felt so responsible.”
He said he wants to “capture the moments” with his family while he can.

Jonnie has been married to Jess, 40, since 2016 and also urged others with “life-limited prospects” to make the most of every day and try and live a positive life.
He continued: “One day, this is going to catch up with me.
“But I’m doing everything I can to hold that day off for as long as possible. I owe that to Jess and our boys.
“Some people in my position have bucket lists, but I just want us to do as much as we can as a family.”
Jonnie’s A Place In The Sun career began in 2004 when he was selected from hundreds of applicants along with co-presenter Jasmine Harman.
