Good Morning Britain star Richard Arnold has teased he might make an appearance in the upcoming Neighbours reboot.
But host Ben Shephard was clearly surprised the hit Aussie soap was returning to screens so soon after its axe from Channel 5 – and he couldn’t help airing his confusion on Friday’s show (November 18).
It comes after the announcement that Neighbours is being revived and will return to screens in 2023 on Amazon Freevee.

Several past stars have already signed up, including Alan Fletcher as Karl Kennedy and Jackie Woodburne as Susan Kennedy.
Ben and co-host Charlotte Hawkins discussed the return of Neighbours on Friday, where Mr Shephard admitted he couldn’t believe the soap was returning so quickly after it was cancelled.
When showbiz presenter Richard Arnold shared news of the reboot, a baffled Ben blurted out: “It’s just gone! They’ve just celebrated the end!”
Arnold also hinted that he might bag himself another cameo in the soap after he previously enjoyed a short stint on the show with Denise Van Outen in 2019.
He told viewers: “So obviously we’ve got to start a campaign to get me back to Neighbours,” to which Ben excitedly agreed: “Yes!”
Arnold sarcastically added: “Which will be the top of peoples’ agenda this morning as we wake up after the budget.”
Shephard jokingly suggested his co-star could either do Neighbours or appear on Clarkson’s Farm with Jeremy Clarkson and Caleb.
But Arnold shut down the idea, saying: “I don’t think I’ll be ploughing any fields any time soon.”
Neighbours originally ran for more than 36 years and 9,000 episodes.
It launched the careers of stars including Kylie Minogue, Guy Pearce, Jason Donovan, and Margot Robbie.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
