I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has seen some iconic stars pass over its rope bridge, but none more controversial than one Gillian McKeith.
The You Are What You Eat star had the nations’ eyes upon her as she passed out during a live Bushtucker Trial, failed to win stars for camp, and generally freaked out about life in the Australian jungle.
Gillian later confessed to going as far as to fake a pregnancy to get out of a trial.

But things are not all as they seem in the jungle, and Gillian has explained that, in order to keep secrecy, stars are driven around in vans blindfolded when travelling to various areas of the set.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, the nutritionist said: “When you are out and about doing the trials, no-one speaks to you, no-one. No camera person, nothing. You can ask a question, but they won’t respond. It’s so weird.
“Sometimes you would be shunted around in pitch black. You would be bundled into a van with blackout windows, blindfolded – it was like being kidnapped!
“Then you were driven around to try and disorient you. I don’t know where we were because I couldn’t see. A lot of things happened where I didn’t know what was happening or where I was.”
Gillian also dished what hosts Ant and Dec are like behind-the-scenes – and the answer was “sterile”.
She confessed she didn’t become pals with the presenters while appearing on the programme.
“I saw them all the time, because I was doing all the trials. While you’re in the show, they don’t try to become your friend. It’s very sterile.
“They were very professional, they don’t try to become your friend while you’re going through everything.
“I think Ant is actually afraid of the insects and things, he was always trying to get away from everything. I don’t think he would be able to do it. He was jumping back a lot!” she confessed.
Speaking previously to The Sun, Gillian explained she even pretended to be pregnant to escape the bugs and gunk of the Bushtucker Trials clearing.
She said: “You have access to a psychiatrist at all times and I went to speak to them at one point to ascertain how many more trials I would be doing.
“I tried everything to get out of these trials. I tried telling them I was pregnant and they didn’t believe me.
“I said, ‘I do actually believe I am pregnant and we really must take this seriously’.”
