I'm A Celeb's Mike Tindall cheers as he reunites with wife and campmates after ITV exit

Mike Tindall raised his arms aloft in celebration – as he arrived back in civilisation after being evicted from the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! jungle.

The rugby world cup winner arrived at the plush JW Mariott hotel with wife Zara Phillips and despite coming fourth was given a heroes’ welcome.

Mike, 44, held his hands high to celebrate as he entered the hotel. He then hugged campmates including Seann Walsh and Sue Cleaver before heading off with Zara for a shower and some food in one of the hotel’s plush suites.

In his eviction interview on ITV, Mike told hosts Ant and Dec: “I’m good. It’s been a long time. I can feel my body was getting ready to go. I’m pretty comfortable with it.”

The former sportsman – who has been married to Zara Tindall, the niece of King Charles, since 2011 – loved his time in the jungle and explained that his positive attitude helped him to overcome the challenge.

He said: “It’s been a lot of laughs. That’s the best thing. You can get through anything when the humour is good.”

Mike also revealed that he’d mentally prepared himself for the challenge before he entered the jungle.

The World Cup-winning star explained: “Before I went in, I imagined the worst-case scenario. Then you can deal with everything that’s coming at you.

“The only time I almost had a little wobble was when her had the night-time challenge. But then Seann had a wobble, and I could just go back to focus on [helping] Seann.”

It comes after fans branded the dad-of-three as “sour” when he seemingly “sabotaged” Matt Hancock in the main camp.

In the Bush Telegraph, Mike said he’d noticed something around the camp. He said: “Matt’s making sure his t-shirt and his phone numbers are on display at all times. Matt clearly wants to win.”

In camp, the rugby player turned the disgraced politician’s jumper over to prevent viewers from seeing the number.

He added in the Bush Telegraph: “I’m taking great pleasure in turning it around every time he leaves camp.”
