Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans distracted by huge on-set blunder amid probation plot

On Monday night (November 28), one eagle-eyed EastEnders fan spotted a huge on-set blunder when a mysterious “half used” object appeared in view.

The blunder happened when Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) popped to the Minute Mart on Albert Square to get his soon-to-be wife Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) some gherkins due to her pregnancy cravings.

After making his way over to the local shop, Mick bumped into Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) where the pair spoke about his ex-wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).

While Mick and Sharon discussed Linda’s predicament with her probation officer, one fan spotted something rather peculiar on Suki’s shelves in the Minute Mart.

Mick could be seen in the Minute Mart with a half-used drink behind him

Posting on Twitter under the EastEnders hashtag, one fan asked: “Any reason there was a half drunk bottle of drink on the shelf in the Minute Mart?! #EastEnders.”

And they were correct, because around six minutes into Monday’s double helping of the London-based soap opera, a half-drunk bottle of juice was on display behind Mick.

Right by Mick’s shoulder was a bottle of drink that had clearly been half drunk.

When the view switched from Sharon to Mick, the shelf behind the pub landlord was stocked with all kinds of food and condiments – from peanut butter to tomato ketchup.

The shelf in the shop clearly wasn’t supposed to stock drinks of any manner, which is why it stuck out so clearly to viewers at home.

Mick ended up going back to Sharon’s to speak to Linda’s probation officer – forgetting the gherkins for his wife-to-be.

Realising he had forgotten, Mick dashed to a fancier shop and bought her the biggest jar of pickles he could find – but she soon realised he was telling fibs about his whereabouts.

This comes as Danny Dyer gears up to depart his role of Mick Carter in explosive scenes set to air this Christmas and in the New Year.

Viewers will watch on as the iconic character exits the BBC One soap opera after nine years.
