Inside Strictly presenter Claudia Winkleman's incredible London home – with no mirrors

Strictly Come Dancing presenter and BBC legend Claudia Winkleman lives in a stunning London townhouse, not far from Marble Arch.

She shares the property with husband Kris Thykier and their three kids Jake, 17, Matilda, 14, and nine-year-old Arthur. The family home has an idyllic shared garden square, an abundance of natural light and a resident caretaker.

Their home is a Grade II-listed townhouse and Claudia is said to have counted former Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie among her neighbours.

Claudia once told the Evening Standard how much she adored the location of her property which she reportedly bought for 3.65 million back in 2004.

“I can leave my house at 4am and buy a kebab, rent a movie and get some shampoo,” she admitted.

Claudia, who hosts the popular BBC dance competition with Tess Daly, often shares glimpses of her home, which includes a huge white bookcase, a gorgeous living room which oozes with character.

There’s also a seemingly comfortable pink care which sits nicely in front of a huge sash window which can be spotted by eagle-eyed fans in the background of a picture of Scarlett Curtis celebrating her birthday with the presenter.

She’s also showed off her large standalone bathtub, which sits beautifully inside her pristine bathroom and can fit both Claudia and her make-up artist Sali Hughes, demonstrated in a hilarious beauty tutorial video posted to Sali’s YouTube channel.

Claudia once shared a snap of a her husband Kris tackling a massive chunk of meat on smooth wooden worktops, but if you look carefully behind him, you can see the basis of the pair’s stunningly modern kitchen.

However, one essential item you won’t find in Claudia’s trendy home are mirrors. The BBC Radio 2 host revealed that she’d banned them following her mum Eve Pollard’s rules.

“I was brought up by the strongest and most brilliant woman I’ve ever come across – my mum. She was strong and fantastic and taught me everything I needed to know in being female,” Claudia told The Sun.

She continued: “We weren’t allowed any mirrors in the house, which would explain how I do my makeup… and the fact I look like I’ve slept in a skip.”

As a result that’s something Claudia has decided to implement in her own house.
