Coronation Street fans seem to think Elaine Jones could be Stephen Reid’s next victim after she questioned him intensely following his recent bike accident.
On Wednesday night’s show (November 30), things took a devastating turn for the killer when he had an unexpected fall on his moped.
Desperate to leave Coronation Street for good, Stephen who was speeding on his bike at the time fell amongst bins nearby.

When he was rushed to the nearby hospital, Stephen was startled when Elaine walked into the ward informing the murderer that she was the one who found him and called the emergency services.
But as an inquisitive Elaine continued to question Stephen on why he was riding a bike in Bolton, fans sensed his nervousness and started to think Elaine could soon be in trouble.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “Hope Elaine isn’t Stephen’s next victim.”
Another echoed: “I like Elaine, I hope she doesn’t end up in a wheelie bin too.”
A third wrote: “Elaine could be Stephen’s next victim,” meanwhile another worried spectator penned: “Stephen better not kill Elaine…”
Later on in the show, Elaine’s concerns for Stephen’s welfare began to heighten.

Talking to Stephen while sat beside his hospital bed, she said: “I wish you would let me tell your family, they’ll be worried about you.”
Stephen replied: “Once you start mentioning hospitals and mopeds, no.”
Elaine quickly responded: “Well you’re gonna need looking after. Tonight at least especially if you’re concussed!”
After going back and forth for quite some time, Elaine offered Stephen a place to stay in her home, which he reluctantly accepted.

Elaine, who was previously a victim of her abusive husband Geoff Metcalfe, also told Stephen that she is planning to downsize her home.
As she disclosed details of her financial situation, Stephen, who is desperate for cash, perked up.
Seeing the scene unfold fans rushed back to Twitter to share their views.
One viewer chimed: “Oh no Steven is going to take all Elaine’s money.”
Meanwhile another said: “Elaine downsizing and revealing her equity – she’s just made herself a target.”
