Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen was devastated to announce her beloved sheepdog Kate had passed away.
The TV shepherdess, who shot to fame on the Channel 5 farming show, told fans she was in “mourning” after the tragic death of her gorgeous pet.
She took to Twitter on Friday night (December 2) to share the heartbreaking news with her followers alongside several sweet photos of her and the pup together.

Amanda revealed she had gone to collect Kate from the kennel before finding out her gorgeous farm friend had died in her sleep.
The grieving farmer hailed her loyal black and white sheepdog as a “faithful workmate” as well as a “companion, colleague and friend”.
She wrote: “Then there’s the other kind of mourning. Where you go to get your faithful workmate, companion, colleague & friend from her kennel. Only to find that she has passed away in her sleep.
She signed off: “Kate….that’ll do,” before adding the hashtags: “#yorkshire #shepherdess #sheepdog #dog #kate #RIP”
Amanda was inundated with support from her fans who shared their sadness at the shepherdess’ upsetting loss.
One wrote: “So sorry for your loss all of you.. she had the absolute best life and family any dog could have wished for [heart emoji] bless you Kate RIP you’ll never be forgotten.”
Another said: “We won’t feel her loss as you will but hopefully you’ll get some comfort from knowing a nation mourns with you. Rest well Kate, your work is done”
A third commented: “So sorry for your loss xx”, with a fourth penning: “Thinking of you & the children xx”
A fifth added: “So sad to read this. She clearly served you well and gave you many years of love and loyalty. Sending love to you all.”
Kate was 12 years old and was clearly loved dearly by Amanda and her family as the dog featured in tons of her photos on social media.
Last year, the beautiful pup suffered a tragic miscarriage on the same day that Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh died.
Amanda had written: “There’s so much sadness today & I don’t like to add to it, but sadly I must share the news that sheepdog Kate’s pup was stillborn. It just wasn’t to be.
“She’s fit and well & when went to go gather she wanted to come, so she did.”
Kate also featured regularly in episodes of Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm, where Amanda, her ex-partner Clive and their nine children shot to fame.
