Love Island's Liam Reardon says he split with Millie Court to find 'self love' first

Love Island star Liam Reardon has said he split up with Millie Court as he needed to “love himself” more first.

The former couple won the 2021 series of Love Island but split up in July after almost a year, with both denying that there was anybody else involved.

Hunky Liam, 23, has now opened up about the split while looking for love on Celebs Go Dating, revealing that he ended things.

Speaking to experts Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson, the Welshman said: “In the villa everything was stripped back, you’ve just got each other, and I fell in love with Millie, and we just went from strength to strength.

“I moved straight from Wales to Essex to be with Millie, leaving all my family and friends.”

He went on: “The life I did have is almost not there. It’s been a rollercoaster, I went from a small life in Wales, being a bricklayer to being catapulted into this new life and I found it difficult.

“You’re trying to give 100% to each other, you’re trying to give 100% to yourself, you’re trying to give 100% to this new life and career and it’s hard to juggle everything at once.”

Speaking of the split, Liam said: “I instigated it because if we want to be together, I want to be 100% together.

“For me to love her, I need to love myself and for the past few months I need to find myself a bit again.”

However for fans who were upset to see them split, Liam suggested they might get back together down the line.

He said: “Just never say never, in the future we could rekindle.”

Liam said that they had both been “upset” when he ended their relationship, describing it as a “tricky one”.

Luckily for Millie, she’s had best friend and co-star Chloe Burrows, who recently split from her villa boyfriend Toby Aromolaran.

The blonde beauties have moved in together after Chloe and Toby split up in October.

Like Millie and Liam, it’s believed that nobody else was involved and the former couple had sadly just grown apart.
