Emmerdale fans noticed newbie Darren, who attempts to strike a dodgy deal with Kim Tate, also played the villainous Laurie Shelby in Hollyoaks back in 2018.
Darren arrives to help Kim set up her stud farm but luckily her step-daughter, Dawn, steps in to let Kim know that Darren’s contacts are dodgy – and so is his deal.
Dawn had spotted that Darren had lied about working with Derek Shannon, who had actually be fired a week ago, which left Darren stumbling over his words as Kim ended the meeting.

As viewers watched the scene unfold, one eagle-eyed fan recognised Darren from his role in Hollyoaks four years ago.
“Was he Sienna’s bloke once upon a time #Hollyoaks?? #Emmerdale” they tweeted.
Darren, played by Kyle Pryor, acted as Hollyoaks villain Laurie Shelby, who was the abusive husband of Sinead O’Connor and the deputy head teacher at Hollyoaks High School.
During his time in Hollyoaks, Laurie wreaked havoc, sexually assaulting Sienna Blake, raping Sinead and attempting to rape Diane Hutchinson.
Luckily for the residents of Hollyoaks, he died in the summer of 2019, after injuring his head in a prison van accident.
In 2019 Kyle also met his real-life partner Anna Passey, who plays Sienna Blake in the Channel 4 soap.
Some may also recognise Kyle from Australian soap Home and Away, which he acted in from 2013 to 2017, playing Nate Cooper.
Now in Emmerdale, despite Kim and Dawn seemingly ending Darren’s way, he’s set to return for a risky, high stakes poker game, set up by Vinny and Jimmy who started playing in tonight’s episode (7th Dec).
Viewers already shared their concerns over a grief-stricken Vinny and formerly-addicted gambler Jimmy getting involved in such a lucrative game.
“Gambling. What a great idea, Will, considering Vinny has a family history of addiction #Emmerdale”, one tweeted.
Another asked: “Is Vinny going to become a gambling addict?” to which a second replied, “Looks like it”.
