Gemma Atkinson has revealed she had to switch off Strictly as Will Mellor was eliminated because it was too upsetting for her daughter.
Three-year-old Mia – who Gemma shares with her partner, Strictly’s Gorka Marquez – is a big fan of Will and wanted him or her dad to go all the way in the competition.
So when Will and his pro partner Nancy Xu ended up in the dreaded dance-off, Gemma knew she had a problem on her hands.

She shared a video on Instagram showing her sat next to Mia as they both watched the results show with worried looks on their faces.
“Papa or Will need to win,” Mia said, as Gemma looked concerned.
“They need to get through one of them, don’t they?” she replied.
Reassuring Mia, she went on: “They will still be dancers though, won’t they? Even if they leave tonight they will still be dancers.”
Looking upset, Mia insisted: “Yes but I’ll cry if he goes.”
“Well this is awkward,” Gemma captioned the cute clip.
She then shared another video of them watching as Will ended up in the bottom two, as she told Mia that whoever went home would be back next week for the final anyway.
She also reminded the tot that her dad, who is paired with TV star Helen Skelton in the contest, had made it through.
“Gonna turn it off now,” Gemma told her followers. “Can’t put her through the dance-off.
“I feel this is practice for future heartbreaks at least!”
