Spice Girls star Emma Bunton broke down in tears to her fans on Instagram as she confirmed she had been diagnosed with a medical condition that has left her unable to sing.
The chart-topping star had to pull out of two scheduled tour dates as she emotionally shared the news with followers on her stories on the social media app.
Emma, 46, apologised to those who had planned to come and see her on the dates of her festive tour as she explained the reasons for the cancellations.

Speaking on Friday (December 16) she said: “Please accept my sincere apologies, my Christmas Show in York cannot go ahead tonight, I have been advised by my doctor that I am unable to perform.
“I am absolutely devastated and I’ll see you all again very soon xx.”
Emma then admitted that she was struggling with her emotions because of letting her fans down due to the illness.
Adding a tearful selfie to her post she added: “I have never in my whole career ever had to cancel a gig and I can’t stop crying. I tried my hardest to make tonight happen. Thank you for all your beautiful messages of support.
“I feel like I have let so many of you down today and it has left me heartbroken.”
Explaining further she continued: “With rest and medication and I wake every morning with hope. Birmingham, I am here but unfortunately won’t be able to perform tonight under doctor’s orders.
“I am overwhelmed by all of the support and love from my fans. Love you all very much.”.
While Emma – aka Baby Spice – had to call off these shows, she had already taken to the stage in Manchester on Monday and Brighton on Tuesday as part of her Emma Bunton and Friends UK tour.
The last date of the run of shows is scheduled for December 19 at London’s Theatre Drury Lane, however, it is yet to be confirmed if the scheduled gig will go ahead.
The tour sees Emma perform a string of hits by the Spice Girls as well as a selection of her own solo material.
