The Chase’s Mark Labbett slimmer than ever as fans ‘don’t recognise him’ in new snap

The Chase star Mark Labbett looked completely unrecognisable in a new snap – and slimmer than ever.

Mark, better known as The Beast on the ITV quiz show, has been dedicating himself to his weight loss journey over the past year, and shed an incredible 10 stone since 2021.

But fans almost didn’t recognise him behind the scenes of his pantomime as he shared his new toned frame in a loose black t-shirt.

Mark could be seen in the dressing room clutching his secret Santa gift – a Pointless board game – as he pulled a face for the camera.

With dark eyeliner framing his peepers and thick brows drawn over his own, Mark had just a hint of designer stubble in the snap as he wowed in the simple t-shirt and dark trousers.

He showed off his slender arms and noticeably thinner waistline in the snap, leaving fans questioning their own eyes as some failed to recognise the quizzer.

Mark tweeted alongside the snap: “This was my secret Santa at the Northwich Panto. I suspect @richardosman.”

His Chase co-star Anne Hegerty quickly responded with a row of laughing emojis – but fans were more concerned with his appearance than his gift.

One wrote: “Bloody hell, actually didn’t think that was you and thought it was possibly your son or a relative lol!”

Someone else echoed: “Almost didn’t recognise you, really smashed that weight loss!” as a third fan said: “Where have you gone? You look like a different person!”

“Less ‘The Beast’ more ‘The Stick Man’. That’s incredible!” another social media user penned.

While somebody else posted: “You’re disappearing Mark – remarkable weight loss! Have a good Christmas.”

Mark has been open about his weight loss journey, confirming that walking his Labrador Retriever Baloo helped a lot when it came to exercise – as well as running around after his “hyperactive” toddler.

Mark cut down on sugar and carbs in a “complete nutrition overhaul”, but didn’t undergo any surgery to aid his weight loss as having a gastric band fitted, doctors warned, would be dangerous due to the way his body digests sugar.

Mark found that contracting Covid-19 also helped with weight loss as he lost his sense of taste and smell, meaning he “didn’t want to eat”.
