The Weakest Link fans stunned by Love Island Tasha Ghouri's Concorde confession

Love Island star Tasha Ghouri left fans stunned after she confessed that she’d never heard of the Concorde while appearing on The Weakest Link.

Starring in the Christmas special of the popular BBC game show, the 23-year-old was evidently confused by a question regarding the historic aircraft.

Presenter Romesh Ranganathan had asked her: “In transport, which commercial airliner built in a joint venture between the UK and France could fly at twice the speed of sound?”

Hesitantly, Tasha replied: “Jet2.”

After her mishap Tasha, who was dressed as an ice queen for the special episode, was voted as The Weakest Links by the remaining players in the game.

Following her abrupt exit from the game, Tasha spoke about how she felt while playing.

She said in her confessional: “In the moment you just freeze and my heart is thumping so quick.

“I think with the Concorde question, I’ve actually never heard of Concorde before. So I kind of went with Jet2, because I feel Jet2 is a well-known airline.

“I just thought, you know what, stick with my gut and I just said that,” she explained.

Tasha left fans gobsmacked

But after hearing her admission, viewers were left stunned and headed over to Twitter to share their views.

One astonished spectator wrote: “She’s never heard of Concorde before… dear God.”

Another penned: “Lmao how did Tasha get Jet2 and not Concorde.”

Meanwhile a third said: “Tasha Ghouri confusing Concorde for Jet2 is my fav quiz answer of the year.”

Having made its first commercial flight on January 21, 1976, Concorde came out of service on October 23, 2003.

The ultrafast aircraft could hit a maximum speed that was more than twice as fast as the speed of sound, making it a brilliant mode of travel for passengers who needed to get to their destination quickly.

Following the Air France Concorde crash in the year 2000 which killed all its passengers and crew members, Concorde’s fate was sealed.

But Air France and British Airways pointed the finger at low passenger numbers and rising maintenance costs for the aircraft’s retirement.

The tragic 9/11 attacks in 2001 also had an impact on those choosing to fly.
