Britain Get Singing turned emotional on Christmas Eve as Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell broke down in tears.
The programme is running alongside ITV’s mental health campaign Britain Get Talking, advocating for more open communication when it comes to depression and anxiety.
With a judging panel made up of Will.I.Am, Alesha Dixon, Adam Lambert and Jason Manford, it was a big job to impress the audience.

The actor, who is best known for his role as Kevin Webster on the ITV cobbles, was taking part alongside the likes of Dee Dee Bailey star Channique Sterling Brown, his on-screen sister Sue Devaney, and Billy Mayhew star Daniel Brocklebank.
But discussing his nerves about getting up on stage, Michael couldn’t help breaking down in tears.
He admitted he even gets “anxious” in his everyday job on the cobbles – so singing on-stage was a whole different ball park.
Michael admitted ahead of the performance: “We’ve got a good team, apart from me.
“I feel anxious about it.”
While rehearsing on the Rovers set, Michael began to cry and had to step back and wipe his eyes.
He said: “Oh, it’s made me cry! Those words!”
In a VT clip, Michael said: “There was just something so powerful and emotional with us all doing it together.”
Sue, who plays Kevin’s sister Debbie Webster, asked him: “How are you finding it so far? You got emotional at one point, didn’t you?”

Michael then admitted: “I get anxious doing my proper job. You know, which is acting – even after all these years. So doing something like this, which I’ve never done before, I do get nervous.”
The collective cast performed a rousing rendition of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman, and Michael in particular received glowing praise from the judges for overcoming his fears.
Michael wasn’t the only one emotional on the night, as judges Jason Manford and Alesha Dixon teared up during the Loose Women cast’s performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water.
