During his career, Adam went on to make the list of VH1’s ‘greatest 100 kid stars’ and was ranked at number 73 on the list.

However, he went on to shun the entertainment business in the 1980s and revealed he hated the spotlight and the celebrity culture.

Fans have since taken to social media to pay tribute to the star, with one writing: “RIP Adam Rich,” alongside a praying emoji.

Over the course of his life, his battle with substance abuse was well documented, with the ctor being arrested in 1991 after he smashed a pharmacy window in a bid to get his hands on drugs.
