Passions actor Ben Masters has sadly passed away at the age of 75.
The TV star died from Covid-19 while in the hospital in Palm Springs, California.
Masters, who was best known for playing the role of Julian Crane, had been battling dementia for a number of years before he contracted the virus.

The actor featured in a incredible 749 episodes of Passions, which he starred in from 1999 to 2008, when the show was cancelled. Masters never had another on-screen role after Passions’ cancellation.
In addition to his role on Passions, Masters starred in on and off- popular Broadway shows like Captain Brassbound’s Conversion, The Cherry Orchard, and Boys in the Band.
During the 70s, ’80s, and ’90s, Masters appeared in miniseries like Noble House with Pierce Brosnan, and Celebrity with Ned Beatty and Tess Harper.
He also guest starred in a number of television series, including Kojak, Petrocelli, Touched by an Angel and Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, to name a few.
Since the news of his passing, fans have flooded Twitter to pay their respects.
One social media user said: “We lost Sonya Eddy a few weeks ago in 2022 and now Ben Masters. Ugh…2023 is not off to a good start.”
Another mourned: “Absolutely devastated. RIP to the fabulous Ben Masters, an incredible actor.”
A third echoed: “RIP to the amazingly talented #BenMasters. I grew up liking Julian Crane (but not in the beginning tho) My fellow #Passions fans and friends are devastated.”
Meanwhile a fourth reflected: “Passions was a wild series. The only way I could describe it is that it’s like Susan Harris’s awesomely-controversial sitcom Soap was played straight (and both totally went off the rails in their final seasons), and Ben Masters’ Julian Crane was a big part of that.”
“Heart-breaking news. I’m so sorry for your loss. He was an amazing actor. Loved him on Passions. RIP Ben Masters,” another added.
The TV star is survived by his sister Cheryl Lerner and his nieces Hannah and Clea Lerner.
According to the publication Deadline, there will be no memorial service or funeral, at Masters’ request.
