Hollywood actor Mark Patton, best known for his starring role in A Nightmare On Elm Street 2, is severely ill with AIDS in a Mexican.
Following his deteriorating health condition, Patton’s manager set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to transfer the star to an American hospital in hopes of receiving better treatment.
The Hollywood actor was first diagnosed with HIV on his 40th birthday back in 1999 and given just a year to live after his boyfriend Murphy was killed by the disease one year earlier.

Now 63, the actor is thought to have “been ill for quite some time” after confusing his symptoms with the side effects of Covid-19.
On reflection, his manager Peter Valderrama revealed on Saturday (January 14) that what Mark is dealing with is “quite clearly AIDS-related ailments” in the heartbreaking fundraiser.
As of Sunday morning (January 15), more than $28,000 have been raised to help cover the actor’s medical expenses, surpassing the original $18,000 goal listed on the GoFundMe account.
Prior to his recent bout of ill health, Patton had been living with his husband Hector Morales Mondragon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where they ran an art gallery together.
But it’s clear to see his love of acting was still going strong despite his career U-turn after the star remains a regular at horror conventions in the area.
In the second instalment of the 1985 movie of Nightmare on Elm Street, Patton played the leading role of Jesse Walsh who faced off against Freddy Krueger.
Aside from his role in the cult classic, Patton also shared the screen with Cher in the 1982 film Come Back to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. He also appeared in hit films Family Possessions in 2016.
In 2019, the actor went on to share his life story in the documentary Scream Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street.
But in recent months, the star has reportedly been forced to cancel several scheduled appearances following his health battle.
His manager Valderrama explained that he “has decided to release his news in the hopes that his community could help him”.
He continued: “As his fans know very well, Mark takes his events very seriously and values any opportunity to meet with them in person – especially after the last few years with Covid seriously crippling those opportunities.
“Mark was truly looking forward to this show for quite some time but sadly his health has taken a drastic turn for the worse.
“He has been ill for quite some time now – originally it was thought to be aftershocks of Covid and some hefty infections that could potentially be tackled with care and rest. But now it is quite clearly AIDS related ailments that he is managing”.

Valderrama went on: “Mark is currently in a Mexican hospital where they speak very little English – and they are completely overcome with Covid cases there.
“He needs to be transported to an American hospital down there where he can receive more specialized care in a safer setting. For this, we humbly need to ask for help.”
It is unclear how Patton ended up developing AIDS. For many people who test positive for HIV, they can remain in good health by regularly take their medication.
However, there is no cure for AIDS, with medication the only way to stop HIV from advancing into AIDS.
