Jeremy Clarkson sparks furious debate as he admits he's using 'magic' weight loss drug

Jeremy Clarkson has triggered debate after revealing he is taking a “magic” drug to help him shed the pounds.

The Grand Tour star – who has already been in the headlines this week after he revealed he’d apologised to Prince Harry for comments he made about Meghan Markle – said he is using Ozempic, an injectable medication which can be prescribed for those with diabetes.

Opening up in The Sunday Times, he explained that he wants to slim down and avoid getting the illness.

“I’ve had a magic jab and my giant gut’s already shrinking,” wrote the 62-year-old.

“I can open the fridge, where there’s half a chicken and a juicy bottle of rosé, and I want neither.

“Of course, I’ll have to insert some balance in the future, or I’ll, you know, die. But for now it’s tremendous.”

The star said he acted after noticing that friends of his were “getting thinner”, and discovering some were using Ozempic, which he said “dulls your appetite”.

The drug, he said, was developed for diabetes but can be used as a preventative measure and he was told he was a suitable candidate.

However, there was mixed opinion on social media.

Some fans said they were interested to read the article.

But others pointed to the fact that Jeremy said there were reports Ozempic was in short supply, although he did add that he found it easily at the chemist.

One person sniped on Twitter: “For all those diabetics struggling to find one of the medicines keeping you alive, here’s why: people like Jeremy Clarkson are buying it up to lose weight.”

Another chimed in: “I just read somewhere that you are using a diabetic medication called Ozempic to lose weight but by you and other entitled d******** using this medication, you are basically using up the supplies which is taking it away from people who actually need it.”

Someone else claimed the medicine was for treating Type 2 diabetes and “not ‘warding it off’.”

Daily Star has contacted a representative for Jeremy for comment.
