The Hairy Bikers were left gobsmacked after a listener wrote in seeking advice on how to deal with her partner’s family after she was gifted a vibrator by his sister for Christmas.
Si King and Dave Myers were taking on more of the nation’s worries in the latest episode of their Agony Uncles podcast – but were left completely bewildered by one woman’s Christmas gifts.
The Geordie foodies switched up their expertise from cuisine to sex after a woman claimed she stormed out of her boyfriend’s family home at Christmas after being mortified at their gifts for her.

The anonymous listener, who the Bikers named Helen*, wrote: “Bert* gave me a package that could only be described as the sort of lacy underwear that a stripper would wear.

“Worse still, as I held it up in the air trying to understand what on Earth it was, his whole family erupted in laughter, urged me to go put it on so they could see me in it – his father being the loudest at that particular point.
“This was followed by a gift from one of his sisters – a giant vibrator – which she gave me because she didn’t think her brother would be any good in bed.”
Dave and Si were left cackling at the incident – with Si shouting that he “wants to go.”

However, Helen* claimed she struggled to sleep that night from being so embarrassed and stayed in a hotel the following day before making her own way home.
Her partner believes she over-reacted but the Agony Uncles say their sympathies lie with Helen as Dave said: “Being a northerner I can see the openness and the few hahas – but there are certain things that are private between a couple.”
Dave also agreed as their “side-kick” Posh Tash said that they can understand the bloke buying her lacy underwear but not that he gave it to her in front of his family.

Tash added: “I think over-the-line was the vibrator. You can imagine, they did that to embarrass him more than her.
“They were being stupid siblings going ‘go on, he must be tiny down there’.”
She argued that Helen did overreact by storming off – but the Bikers disagreed as they say the gift was completely ‘inappropriate.’

Dave added: “I think with a family like that, the idea of talking about discussing it – they’ll think she’s being stuck up.
“It’s just like really inappropriate.”
