Kim Kardashian left fans furious after purchasing Princess Diana’s necklace at auction.
An auction source has told TMZ that the SKIMS founder has bought the necklace for $197,453 (£159,976).
The rare diamond-encrusted cross necklace was sold on Wednesday (January 18) at a Sotheby’s auction.

The iconic piece of jewellery was once worn by Princess Diana at a London charity gala in 1987 with the princess pairing it with a purple-tinged outfit and borrowed it from The Garrard jewellery company for the event.
Kim’s new stunning statement piece is known as the Attalah Cross but has caused some controversy among fans.
As fans shared their frustration, one user wrote: “What’s up with Kim Kardashian purchasing/using items that belonged to dead people? First Michael Jackson, then using Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress and now princess Diana’s necklace?? These items should be in a museum not up for auction.”
A second added: “she already ruined Marilyn’s dress, an Alexander Mcqueen dress and now she had Diana’s necklace… you will never be iconic Kim Kardashian.”
“There is nothing more I enjoy than seeing ADULTS being angry about a dress Kim never broke and now the cross that Diana wore 1 time in her life. Idk get a life and actual problems. It’s ridiculous #KimKardashian #Diana #MarilynMonroe #Kardashians,” a third shared.
A fourth put: “Kim Kardashian just bought Princess Diana’s amethyst necklace, the Attallah Cross, at a Sotheby’s auction for £163,800. Apparently, it hadn’t been seen in public since her death.”
The reality TV queen Kim seems to regularly be on the auction circuit and has bought multiple pieces to add to her collection.
TMZ also revealed that she’s also purchased items that were worn by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie O, and others.
This comes after Kim was also slammed for her Met Gala look when she wore one of Marilyn Monroe’s most iconic dresses.
During a chat with her hairstylist Chris Appleton, Kim revealed that she knew she’d be critiqued for wearing Marilyn’s “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress from 1962.
But says that it was “worth” the trouble as she loved wearing such a legendary gown.
On an episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Kim said: “I’m a little nervous some people will hate, and just be like, ‘How dare she think she can step into Marilyn’s dress. And I get that.”
