Masked Singer star takes cheeky swipe at Joel Dommett as he calls him Stephen Mulhern

Masked Singer UK’s Mo Gilligan seemingly made a very veiled dig at Joel Dommett, jokingly, on Saturday night (January 21).

With Joel at the helm of ITV1’s hit guessing show, Mo, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Rita Ora made up the judging panel.

The fun-filled show saw Rubbish, Fawn, Rhino, Pigeon and Jacket Potato perform elaborate singing and dancing routines while viewers at home and the judges in the studio guessed who might be behind the disguises.

Mo made the swipe to Joel as the host was involved in a funny sketch with a security guard in the “VIP section”.

Joel cried: “Don’t you know who I am?”

When Mo said: “Ain’t you Stephen Mulhern?”

Leaving Joel completely taken aback, he replied: “What?”

This came as fans swooned over Joel’s elaborate and very shiny outfit on Saturday night.

Donning a very sparkly suit jacket and matching trousers, the hilarious host shimmered and glimmered throughout the entire show.

“Joel’s sparkly suit is cool,” penned one.

“Just tuned in, love Joel Dommett’s sparkly suit,” added a second.

While a third gushed: “@joeldommett you’re looking very amazing Tonight Joel.”

And a fourth joked: “Joel is dressed as all the quality streets at the same time and I am living for it.”

On Saturday night Rubbish was unmasked

After many guesses, Rubbish was unveiled as Scottish professional snooker player Stephen Hendry.

Among the guesses ahead of the unmasking, some fans thought Take Me Out’s Paddy McGuinness might be behind Rubbish, while others thought snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan.

And one daring fan even thought Olympian gymnast Nile Wilson, who is currently competing in Dancing On Ice, might be behind the disguise.

The Masked Singer airs on Saturday nights at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
