The Masked Singer's Pigeon revealed as comedian Katherine Ryan despite pregnancy

Pigeon has become the latest character to reveal themselves on The Masked Singer – and it was comedian Katherine Ryan behind the mask.

Katherine became the next celebrity to get the axe on Saturday night (January 28) after judges Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross voted to save Jacket Potato.

It meant Fawn, Jacket Potato, Rhino, Phoenix, Knitting, Jellyfish and Otter were sent through to next week’s show after they were saved by the public.

Speaking about her time on the show, Katherine said: “I can only do a sort of Essex accent because I watch so much reality TV.”

She added: “You can’t tell my daughter anything because she’d spill it to her whole school so she’ll be finding out with everyone else. We watch the show together.”

The show was filmed when Katherine was just one month away from giving birth to her baby girl, her third child who she recently welcomed.

The panel couldn’t believe it as Katherine cunningly disguised herself by putting on an Essex accent – leading the panel to think it could be TOWIE star Gemma Collins behind the mask instead.

Jonathan admitted: “We were so convinced at one stage that you were Gemma Collins.”

Katherine welcomed her baby girl with husband Bobby Kootrstra, their second child after son Fred arrived in June 2021.

Bobby announced the news on Instagram with a sweet snap of Katherine cradling her newborn.

She also has a 12 year old son from a previous relationship.

On doing the show while pregnant, Katherine added: “I was quite pregnant while filming and I thought the big pigeon costume would hide that.

“It was important for me that the character had a face because some of them don’t, but I personally connect better to the characters with faces.

“I felt like it was important to represent a strong pensioner and I loved that Pigeon was all comedy and not trying to be attractive for anyone else.”
