Love Island star exposes secret second villa and McDonalds feasts we don’t see on camera

One Love Island star has confirmed the existence of an elusive second villa, where contestants are shipped just before the final.

Tyler Cruickshank reached the final of the ITV2 dating show back in 2021 alongside Kaz Kamwi, eventually finishing fourth.

And just before their final dates, the Islanders are treated to a luxe “pamper day” where they get prepped for the final bout of romance.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star about his experiences, Tyler dished: “With the final, we went to a separate holding villa. The girls got their nails done, their make-up, their hair… so it’s a proper pamper day.

“The guys got their hair cut and we got pedicures as well if we wanted. It’s a proper chilled kind of vibe, but you do have schedules to follow – like, ‘Tyler you’re here, Liam you’re over here’.”

Tyler said the vibe was “really nice”, continuing: “That’s the same holding villa we go back to after the final to chill out, and then you get your phones back and it’s like: ‘Woah’.

“The second villa was massive. It’s like a big complex where all the finalists go. It had to hold a lot of people because not only were the finalists there but you had security, producers, welfare, a lot of different people in the villa so it was actually huge.

“But it’s nice because obviously the mics come off, so you don’t have to worry about not swearing or whatever. You can basically do whatever you want – and you have your phones as well so it’s like a miniature holiday just before you go back.”

Tyler said the stars were also treated to McDonalds feasts behind the scenes, and allowed to order whatever they liked.

He said: “You do get catering but you guys don’t see it. It’s usually around lunchtime, and it’s literally like lunch at school – they bring all the containers out and it’s a free for all.

“It is what it is, it’s more or less the same stuff – chicken, fish, things like that. There were some weeks where we did get McDonald’s!

“We went to town on the McDonald’s. I’m ordering, like, a Big Mac meal with nine nuggets on the side, a McChicken sandwich. We went to town!”

As for Tyler, his next step is balancing studying for a law qualification with his time in the spotlight – and it seems he’s managing well so far!
