The Masked Singer fans are convinced that Jacket Potato could be a famous TV Chef after noticing a huge clue in the character’s outfit.
Fans flocked to social media to speculate about the identity of the star behind the mask after the spud character took to the stage to perform Santana’s hit record Smooth on Saturday (January 28).
They believe they’ve spotted a huge clue in Jacket Potato’s outfit that points towards TV chef James Martin, who currently presents ITV’s Saturday Morning with James Martin and used to host BBC’s Saturday Morning.

The outfit features a large slab of butter on top of the character’s head, with fans suggesting that this could be a huge clue giveaway as one said: “With all that butter, I’m saying Jacket Potato is James Martin. He’s mad for the butter #TheMaskedSinger.”

“Jacket Potato – James Martin. He likes butter,” commented a second.
More fans seemed to agree, with a third suggesting: “Jacket Potato is James Martin the Chef.”
“Jacket Potato = James Martin,” added a fourth.
Meanwhile, other fans made a connection between James’ brand collaborations and books, with a fifth saying: “#MaskedSingerUK Jacket Potato could be James Martin. His latest book was called Potato and I’m sure he’s a brand ambassador for SpudULike.”

James is just one of the celebrities whose name has been put forward for Jacket Potato in recent weeks – including Keith Lemon, rock icon Billy Idol, Professor Brian Cox and TV chef Gino D’Campo.
Two favourites with fans are currently EastEnders Alfie Moon star Shane Ritchie and rock legend Richie Sambora, after fans spotted clues that pointed towards the two celebs.
They said: “Jacket potato is blatantly Shane Richie. I bet you all 50p.”
“Shane Ritchie has to be Jacket Potato,” said another, with more fans suggesting the same.

“Think I’ve cracked a few on Masked Singer UK this week. Jacket Potato sounded like Shane Richie,” they said.
Meanwhile, other fans who suspect Jacket Potato could be Richie Sambora took to social media to say: “Just give it a listen. 100% Richie.”
“Richie has an incredibly distinctive voice. If it’s not him, someone else does a damn good impression with the singing,” added another fan.
