Patsy’s first marriage was to keyboard and musician Dan Donovan, who was part of pop group Big Audio Dynamite.

The influential musician founded the group in the 1980s, before going on to tour with Sisters Of Mercy in 1990 and later forming the group Dreadzone.

He and Patsy married in 1988 when the actress was 20 years old, but divorced three years later in 1991.

One year later in 1992, Patsy married another huge 80’s pop star – Jim Kerr of Simple Minds.

She and the Don’t You Forget About Me singer were together for more than four years and welcomed a child together called James.

However, they divorced in 1996.

Speaking the Postcards from Midlife Podcast, Patsy admitted that her marriage to Jim and later Oasis’ Liam Gallagher were “significant” and considers them her “two marriages”.

“Well, I married all my boyfriends, so… that was something that I’ve learned I needn’t do,” said Patsy.

“I can’t change the rules of the law… [but] I was with Jim, and Lennon’s dad for years, so I kind of count them as my two marriages.”

She added: “I know that’s not allowed, I know there was a ceremony. But I feel that those were the really significant relationships and very, very deep and wonderful in so many ways.”

Speaking to The Mirror, Patsy also praised Liam and Jim saying: “Most importantly I have two wonderful sons who have fantastic relationships with their dads. They are great fathers and that is all that I would ever want.”

Liam Gallagher

Following her divorce from Jim, Patsy met another huge music icon who she once described as “the love of her life”.

She and Oasis’ Liam Gallagher met on a plane and soon married later that year, before welcoming a son called Lennon in 1999.

Speaking to The Mirror about their relationship, Patsy said: “We just clicked on every level. He was protective and loving.

“When we were together there were fireworks, and a chemistry that lasted to the end.”

The actress also admitted during the interview that she turned down the opportunity to play Ross’ girlfriend Emily in hit US sitcom Friends, as she was desperate to make their relationship work, adding: “I was madly in love and I chose my marriage over the job.”

Patsy explained that when Liam was not on tour, they were joined at the hip together – even when they went to the supermarket – but that she would worry about the singer when he went away due to rumours of “womanising”.

She said: “I’d heard all the rumours about his womanising and I knew exactly what was going on behind my back. Liam was very young and I could also see the temptations surrounding him. I wasn’t naive about how intoxicating it can be – and it was all new to Liam.”

However, Liam would go on to have a fling with Lisa Moorish, with who he welcomed a daughter called Molly in 1998.

Patsy and Liam later split in 2000, with Patsy saying she “regretted” ending the relationship, but they have remained good friends.

Jeremy Healey

Patsy’s fourth marriage was to superstar DJ Jeremy Healy, who the actress first met in 2007.

After two years of dating, the couple tied the knot in 2009. However the marriage was not to last, and rumours of a split began to circulate just one year later.

A spokesperson said at the time: “Patsy and Jeremy remain committed to making their marriage work. Spending this time apart has always been part of Jeremy’s work schedule and on his return they are going to spend some time working things through.”

Patsy and Jeremy later divorced, with a source told Daily Mail at the time: “Patsy has tried everything to make it work but it’s over. She has said there is nothing that can be done about it now.

“She is determined to make it work but Jeremy is adamant that it’s over and has moved out.”

Late last year, Patsy became engaged for a fifth time to multi-millionaire property tycoon Patric Cassidy.

Patric was reported to have got down on one knee after a whirlwind five-week romance, when the couple were introduced to each other via mutual friends.

He proposed during a romantic fish supper in October 2022, with a source telling The Sun: “Both Patsy and Patric are smitten, and it just feels very right.

“He popped the question at Scott’s in London on Tuesday, and after she celebrated they took over the bar at the nearby Connaught hotel and bought the whole room Cristal champagne.”

Although Patsy has not publicly announced the engagement, when The Mirror approached Patsy’s representatives for comment about the proposal, they said: “I cannot confirm or deny the engagement, however Patsy is very happy and she has asked me to thank you for asking.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
