Love Island fans blast ITV show as they admit 'only tuning in for Maya Jama'

Love Island fans have revealed they were only tuning in to see stunning host Maya Jama walk into the villa on Friday night (February 3).

The hit ITV2 dating show showed Kai and Olivia share their first kiss outside of a challenge and Ron try to fight new boy Casey for Lana’s affections.

But it seems some fans aren’t too bothered about the drama happening in the villa as many admitted they had only tuned in to watch host Maya walk into the villa.

Fans rushed to complain about the episode on Twitter and begged to see Maya appear on their screens to save the day.

One fan asked: “Who else is here purely for Maya’s surprise visit?”

A second admitted: “I’m only watching for Maya.”

Another fumed: “what so i have to wait a whole 60mins for maya or smth?”

A fourth complained that the episode was dry without the host as they penned: “Yep this episode is sh**. Where’s Maya Jama????”

A fifth added: “Just bring Maya Jama in there already.”

Some viewers said they only tuned in for Maya

Maya came in at the end of the episode, leaving the islanders well and truly shocked.

She greeted them: “Hello lovelies! Surprise, did you miss me?” before asking them all to gather by the fire pit as she had something to tell them.

Kai gasped: “Maya Jama!”

Maya said: “I’m sure you’re all wondering why I’m here… you have definitely been a busy bunch.”

She told the boys it ‘wasn’t going to be their night’ as one boy was going to be leaving the villa after the public voted for their favourite boy.

But when the three boys with the fewest votes were revealed, Aaron, Spencer, and Kai, the girls were told they had to chose which one boy they would save as two would be dumped.

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm
