Coronation Street legend Jennie McAlpine has been wowing fans with her incredible weight loss transformation over the years.
The Manchester native became a hit with viewers back in 2001 when she first stepped onto the Weatherfield cobbles as Fiz Brown.
Fast forward 22 years, two children and even an I’m A Celeb stint, and Jennie looks worlds away from the brash and bright teenager we all fell in love with.

Jennie has lost an impressive amount of weight since finding fame on the long-running ITV soap.
The mum-of-two has reportedly dropped three dress sizes since her arrival.
So as Jennie turns 39 today, the Daily Star is taking a look at her incredible weight loss transformation.
Jennie reveals ‘common sense’ weight loss secret
Back in 2021, Jennie explained that she got into shape and dropped three dress sizes by using her “common sense”.
Speaking to OK!, Jennie said she simply followed a healthy diet without too many restrictions.
She also claimed that trusting your own instincts is the key.
She said: “I don’t go in for all the diet plans and worrying yourself silly over how much you weigh.
“Ice cream is bad, salad is good – it’s not rocket science.”
Jennie added: “If you eat more of the good stuff and take more exercise then you’ll lose weight.”
Jennie ‘refuses’ to talk about body image
Although Jennie has been open about her incredible weight loss, she has revealed that she doesn’t like discussing body image.
The Corrie star appeared on Loose Women in 2017, and when the topic of weight came up, she said: “On the front of the magazine was ‘Jennie McAlpine admits to us ‘I wish I had a gastric band.’”
“I was so distressed.”
She then went on to reveal how she doesn’t want to make weight an issue.
“I refuse to talk about it because I don’t want to be responsible for a young boy or young girl reading that,” she said.
Jennie slams ‘boring’ gym and ‘cuts out the crisps’
Despite her incredible weight loss, back in 2012 Jennie insisted that she was “never worried about being thin.”
Speaking to Daily Record, Jennie at the time claimed going to the gym was “boring” and branded weighing machines as “awful contraptions.”
“It’s ridiculous going to a gym. I will walk to work if it’s not raining,” she said.
The publication also reported that to keep the weight off, Jennie stayed away from crisps, walked to work and played the boxing game on the iconic Wii console.
Jennie opens up about fat-shaming trolls
Like many of her Coronation street co-stars, Jennie has dealt with her fair share of trolls, in particular fat-shaming keyboard warriors.
In 2020, in an interview with OK!, she opened up about the abuse she receives online.
When asked if she’s ever expended trolling, Jennie said: “Yes I have, things like ‘you’re fat’ and ‘you can’t act’.”
She added: “It’s really easy to say ‘ignore it’, but there are times in our lives when we’ve lost people or we’ve just become mums and we’re more vulnerable.
“I go on social media but I don’t love it and I hope it becomes extinct by the time my children have grown up.”
