This Morning viewers 'disgusted' over magic mushrooms health feature

This Morning viewers have been left feeling sick and grossed out by a feature highlighting the benefits of mushrooms.

Presenters Dermot O’Leary and Josie Gibson discussed the health boosts found in funghi but not all viewers were fans of the idea of mixing mushrooms into their morning routines.

Speaking on social media, one fan wrote: “Josie ‘Everyone is on Mushroom teas’….Errrr No they ain’t.”

Another agreed, as they wrote: “Being offered a billion pounds a mushroom wouldn’t get me to eat the vile things.”

“I think I’ll stick to ginger and honey,” said another.

“Mushroom tea and coffee?? Seriously? Sounds disgusting!” said a fourth.

Viewers also couldn’t resist to point out that ‘magic mushrooms’ can also offer other side effects, as they referenced recreational drugs and symptoms such hallucinations.

One viewer tweeted: “Mushroom in your tea has she been on the magic one’s.”

“Shroom tea definitely works, just not with those mushrooms,” said another.

As the presenters continued to discuss mushrooms alongside Dr Sara, a dubious Josie added: “I think they’re made for health, not for tea.

“You get used to it I suppose, I didn’t like green tea at first but now I drink loads of it.”

Yet Dermot explained that he thought the brown mushroom tea just needed longer to get the full flavours as he said: “I think it just needs a bit longer in there Jose if I’m honest.”

As Dr Sara explained the tea would naturally have an “earthy taste”, Josie said: ‘It’s growing on me.”

Yet viewers at home remained unconvinced as one tweeted: “Mushroom tea? No thanks Part of a full English? Yes please.”

Another added: “I”ll not drink mushroom flavoured coffee, no f****** way.”

The mushroom focus continued into a cooking segment with chef Clodagh McKenna who showed viewers how to whip up a mushroom pasta, but viewers still didn’t feel enticed by the funghi.
