Gary Lucy 'heartbroken' as he breaks silence on split from pregnant Laura Anderson

Soap star Gary Lucy says he will “never stop loving” pregnant Laura Anderson after the pair’s surprise split.

The Hollyoaks actor says he was “gutted” that Laura, who he met on Celebs Go Dating last year, had ended their relationship.

Former EastEnders star Gary, 41, admitted he had fallen “head over heels” for the former Love Island contestant.

Gary has two sons and two daughters with his former wife, Natasha, and 33-year-old Laura became pregnant within a few months of them getting together.

Scot Laura announced she was expecting last week by posting a montage of videos from the couple’s first Christmas together and a baby scan.

However, former The Bill star Gary did not want to move to Laura’s native Scotland and a series of rows led to her dumping him.

Gary told The Sun on Sunday: “It’s been really hard and I’m devastated it’s over romantically.

“I think the world of her.”

Gary, who was born and lives in Essex, added: “Laura did want me to move but I have my responsibilities here.

“I have four kids and all the things that go along with that so it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to uproot at this time.

“Having gone through a divorce, my children need me and living such a long way from them just would not be possible.

“I wish I could break myself in half. I would if I could.”

Gary added that he fell for Laura as soon as he saw her and added that he “won’t stop loving her” despite the split.

Although disappointed at their relationship ending, Gary travelled to Glasgow last weekend to accompany Laura to her first scan.

He even purchased Valentine’s gifts for Laura, including a bracelet engraved with the words “Baby Bear, Mummy Bear and Daddy Bear” in a desperate bid to save the relationship.

Rumours that the couple’s romance might be coming to an end began circulating last month when fans noticed that they had stopped following each other on social media.

Laura denied at the time that there were problems between the pair, claiming that she had been showing Gary “how to block a troll” when it happened.

Gary is keen to solve the pair’s long-distant problem before the baby’s arrival in August and admits he is keen to win her back.

The former Dancing on Ice contestant added: “The baby is our number one priority. I’d love a football team of kids and I’m almost there.

“I can’t wait to meet the new bundle of joy.

“Looking for love elsewhere isn’t on the radar. We can’t get things to work at this time, but who knows what the future holds?

“I would have loved things to have worked out.”
