Katie Price feels 'betrayed' by police who allegedly mocked Harvey in group chat

Katie Price has admitted she feels “betrayed” by Metropolitan Police officers who allegedly “posted inappropriate and discriminatory images” about her disabled son, Harvey, in a WhatsApp group chat.

Eight policemen are facing a gross misconduct inquiry following the callous jokes made about Harvey, 20, who has Prader-Willi Syndrome, autism and is blind.

The former model, 44, told the Sunday Mirror: “These are the people who are supposed to be protecting us, people we are supposed to trust. It’s pure betrayal. I was in shock at first, then I felt sick, heartbroken and angry.”

She added: “It’s not enough for these people to just lose their jobs if found guilty. If this has happened to a vulnerable adult like Harvey, it will be happening to others.”

On Friday (February 17), the mum-of-five took to her Instagram Stories and shared a photo of the letter she had received regarding the inquiry, slamming the cops’ “disgusting” behaviour.

The I’m A Celeb star captioned the post: “It’s disgusting that police officers from here have felt the need to laugh and use disgusting content on Harvey by creating a [WhatsApp] group. I would attend this court day but I’m away.

“They need to be named shamed and exposed,” the former Page 3 girl added.

The contents of the letter was visible in the image and detailed the police officer’s alleged offences regarding a WhatsApp group between 2016 and 2018.

The letter said: “I am sorry to make you aware that a number of Metropolitan Police officers are alleged to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in regards to Discreditable Conduct for being part of a WhatsApp group chat that has posted inappropriate and discriminatory images of your son, Harvey Price.

“The officers will now be subject to a Gross Misconduct Hearing starting on 20th February 2023.”

The WhatsApp group is alleged to have included “discriminatory content attacking the protected characteristics of race, religion or belief, disability, sexual orientation and sex, in the forms of messages, memes and videos”.

The OnlyFans star added: “What they have done is disgusting, and if they are allowed to get away with it, then our system needs a complete overhaul.

“If they aren’t punished, what’s to stop it happening again to other vulnerable people? As far as I’m concerned, no punishment is enough. I want there to be severe consequences for them if guilty.”

The hearing will begin on Monday and is expected to last four days.
