A Place in the Sun viewers spot red flag with couple moments into show

A Place in the Sun viewers claimed a couple showed red flags from the start after naming a key consideration in their search.

Tina and Greg appeared on the Channel 4 programme searching for a property in western Cyprus with a budget of £190,000 and the help of property expert and presenter Leah Charles-King.

The security staff members, who have been married for over 40 years, were looking for a three to four-bedroom forever home with some outdoor space to spend their retirement, with enough space for the family to visit.

Tina and Greg had revealed they had three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, which sparked concern among viewers as house hunters often let their dog’s preferences get in the way of them finding their dream property on the show.

One alarmed viewer wrote: “Oh oh dogs.”

Another added: “Why are there always dogs?”

A third said: “Please no.”

A fourth commented: “Dogs again this should be fun.”

Leah confirmed some of the properties they were shown already had multiple pets already residing in them which helped sway Tina and Greg’s minds.

Coming together at the end of the show, they put down a competitive offer which was initially declined but later accepted after some haggling.

Tina, Greg, and their dogs walked away from Cyprus with their dream home and £15,000 to spare.

The news comes after fans branded a buyer ‘a snob’ after she compared a luxury holiday home in Malaga, Spain to an average property on a housing estate.

Presenter Scarlett Douglas was showing Hazel and her good friend Paula around a number of properties along Málaga’s east coast, in a bid to find her dream holiday home on a budget of £250,000.

With a “wiggle-room” of up to £300,000, Hazel was shown a property on the market for just over £307,000 that was negotiable to around £290,000. It featured three bedrooms, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, a balcony — even a pool.

However, the property failed to impress the buyer as she claimed the interior of the main house was just like any other on a housing estate.
