Katie Price welcomes new pet after thousands sign petition to ban her owning animals

Katie Price disappointed Channel 4 viewers after she introduced to her loyal legion of fans to an adorable kitten despite thousands of people signing a petition to ban her from keeping animals.

Her feline friend made its TV debut on her home renovation show My Mucky Mansion on Tuesday night (February 22) as the young black cat helped her to decorate a vase for her kitchen.

The mum-of-five was seen spraying a vase baby pink before decorating it with matching pink pom poms when her four-legged friend made their surprise appearance.

Proud of her creation, Katie confessed to the camera: “If I saw this for sale online, I’d buy it” as she showed off the finished product.

The blonde bombshell, 44, later shared her concern that the small kitten, who wasn’t names, would ruin her work as she shooed it away, shouting: “Get off cat! I don’t want cat hairs on it!”

It comes after the former glamour model came under fire from animal lovers after six of her pet died within her care.

In November, a petition to ban the TV personality from owning any more animals raked in more than 26,000 signatures after the death of her late dog, Sharon.

The Pomeranian pooch was reportedly knocked down by a vehicle in a horror crash after it bolted out of her garden through an open gate at her home.

At the time, Katie was thought to be “in bits” over the death of her late canine after one source explained the accident was “rotten luck” for her and her family.

But this wasn’t the only dog to pass away under her care, after another pup named Rolo – who was a gift for her eldest daughter Princess Andre – died in 2020 after it suffocated when it got stuck under an electric armchair.

Her previous Alsatian dog Sparkle also tragically died when it was hit by a car in a busy A24 road near her house.

A fourth dog, this time a German Shepherd named Queenie, was also killed by another driver back in 2018.

But it’s not just dogs who have fallen victim to the family curse, after Katie lost one of her beloved horses back in 2014.

The former I’m A Celebrity star’s horse unfortunately escaped from a field onto the busy road and died after it was struck by a vehicle.

Her pet chameleon also passed away from a “broken heart” after Princess and her younger brother Junior moved out of the family home to live with their dad Peter Andre during the summer.
