EastEnders viewers were left confused as they spotted famous comedian Alison Spittle on the BBC soap.
On Monday night’s show (February 27), fans saw Alison playing the part of a pregnant lady – who spoke to Whitney at the doctor surgery’s on the show.
Baffled fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with one writing: “Scuse me was that Alison Spittle I just seen on # EastEnders ”

A second added: “Was that Alison Spittle on #Eastenders?”
Alison herself also tweeted before the show began and said: “On my way to @TamsynKelly’s house to watch EastEnders as my internets gone and I want to see myself on @bbceastenders and tweet along live #EastEnders”
To which one soap fan replied: “That was a lovely surprise to see you pop up! Hope you come back, move onto the square with the child and start work in the laundrette!”
Another responded: “Alison she’s never let me watch Eastenders there so you must have some real dirt on her (I’m so excited shall cheer at the screen)”
While a third penned: “I don’t normally watch it. Sat here eating my dinner & saw u & thought “Alison Spittle!” You did a great job on the accent and all. Well done.”
The funnywoman told fans she would be joining the UK soap to play pregnant character Deborah.
Though she confused fans when she revealed her new career move – with many thinking she was announcing her real life pregnancy.
Alison said: “I’ve been keeping this a secret for a while… I’m going to be on Eastenders.
“Edit I’m not pregnant IRL (in real life). I’m pregnant on Eastenders and I was being a goose.
“Thank you, it’s gone too far now, my mammy’s phone is hopping and it’s in the news.
“So to be clear, I’m definitely not pregnant xx”
