Australian actress Rebel Wilson has recalled the moment she had the privilege of meeting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for the first time, revealing that the Duchess of Sussex was ‘not as warm’ as she’d expected.
Duke Harry, however, according to the recently engaged Pitch Perfect star was ‘lovely’.
Speaking on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen earlier this week, 43-year old Rebel revealed she met the Royals on a trip to the pair’s home state of California with her mum.

“Meghan was not as cool. She wasn’t as naturally warm,” Rebel began.

In contrast the star soon added that Harry was ‘lovely’ and ‘could not have been nicer’.
Rebel went on to ponder why Meghan might not have been overly pleased to meet her, admitting that her mum admitted her mum Sue Bownds had asked the couple some ‘slightly rude’ questions, such as ‘Where are your kids?’.
She said she added: “And I’m like, ‘Mom, don’t ask her that.”
Rebel’s comments sparked debate on social media afterwards, meanwhile, with many users backing the Duchess’ cold shoulder.
Some suggested Rebel had badmouthed Meghan in the past and therefore her reaction was to be expected.

One Twitter user wrote: “I honestly have no time for Rebel Wilson. She has shown herself as a pro-monarchist and will use any moment to trash Meghan.”
Another commented: “#MeghanMarkle nor anyone in her orbit gives a flying feather about who Rebel Wilson is or who she knows.”
And a third said: “Never been a fan of Rebel Wilson. And this is so typical. First say Meghan was not warm but follow up with my mom asked her a bunch of rude questions.”
Others fought Rebel’s corner, however, as one person offered: “I believe her. She has good judgment. Meghan Markle is a narcissist. She acted like she’s the monarch when she married a spare to the throne.”
A seconded declared: “Rebel Wilson has been in several movies that have done quite well at the box office. Meghan has proven herself to be rude and petulant. A question about your children isn’t a rude question.”
