Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson 'possessed' by evil spirit during Halloween photoshoot

Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson found out that she was “possessed” by an evil spirit during a Halloween photoshoot, after experiencing paranormal activity at her home.

The reality TV personality is the latest star to appear on Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted, which is currently streaming on Discovery+.

One episode sees the Help! My House Is Haunted Team – dark arts specialist Ian Lawman, paranormal researcher and historian Jayne Harris and investigator Barri Ghai – visit Marnie’s home to investigate unexplained occurrences of paranormal activity in the residence.

Marnie explained that she was able to pinpoint the exact time she noticed paranormal activity occurring – and linked it to a Halloween photoshoot at the graveyard opposite her home.

She can be heard saying: “I used the graveyard for Halloween shoots. My agent is just chucking us in the graveyard, in the church; it was actually really spooky.

“Ever since that, things just took a turn for the worst. I started to have this overwhelming feeling that there was just someone in the house when no one was there.”

Talking about the activity she experience, Marnie continued to say: “There were lights switching on and off, there were noises, bangs. It’s just really freaky, like we could never explain it.”

“It was the loud bangs, the noises, the commotion. The electricity is so unpredictable. Things cut out, sometimes the telly will just switch on,” she added.

“We’d always see shadows walking past the windows and then when we’d double take, they’d be gone,” admitting: “I feel like a prisoner in my own home.”

Historian Jayne Harris met with demonologist Ben Winfield, who said Marnie’s graveyard photoshoot likely caused the activity – and that an “Elemental Guardian” might have attached itself to the star.

“Sounds to me like you’ve got an Elemental Guardian,” said Ben, adding: “I’m kind of picking up bits where something is popping in and popping back out to whoever owns this house.

“But I feel when they come home, whatever’s with them is released and it walks around this house… There’s something telling me that I think I’m dealing with an attachment.”

Ian Lawman confirms Ben’s statement, saying to Marnie: “I feel there’s something attached to you as a person rather than the property.”

The episode sees the team try to capture voices of spirits within the home, as well as aim to connect with the spirit possessing Marnie.

One spooky scene shows the team capture a shadowy silhouette of a figure in Marnie’s bedroom doorway, with Barry Ghai saying: “I think we just captured a ghost.”

The dramatic climax also sees the team try to rid the spirit attachment from Marnie, with Ian saying: “I really think we need to get her back now.”

Marnie Simpson is just one of the stars to feature on the latest series of Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted, with choreographer and former Dancing On Ice judge Louie Spence, along with interior designer Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen featuring in series two.

Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted is available to stream now exclusively on discovery+
