The Oscars have been left in chaos after Glenn Close was forced to drop out of her presenting gig, just hours before the Academy Awards kicked off.
The Hollywood star was due to appear at the awards ceremony on Sunday (March 12) to help hand out one of the coveted awards – one of 40 presenters scheduled to do so.
But after testing positive for Covid-19, the star is thought to be isolating at home.

The 75-year-old has now been forced to miss the Oscars entirely, as her representative confirmed the Fatal Attraction star is “isolating and resting”.

She isn’t the first Hollywood icon to have missed the bash due to coronavirus – last year, Lin-Manuel Miranda was forced to skip the 94th Academy Awards after her wife tested positive for the virus.
Three years after the start of the pandemic, Covid is still wreaking havoc on awards season.
Back in January, the Critics Choice Awards saw Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Michelle Pfeiffer and Jamie Lee Curtis all forced to pull out.
Over the years, Glenn has had an intimate relationship with the Academy Awards, and she has been nominated for eight gongs.

Her first nomination came in 1983 for Best Supporting Actress in The World According to Garp.
And her most recent was in 2021, for her supporting role in Hillbilly Elegy.
This year, the nominees are already bringing tonnes of glamour. Vanessa Hudgens turned up the heat in a floor-length black gown featuring cream stripes on the hem and over her bust.
Meanwhile, Ashley Graham channelled the Met Gala as she wowed in a sheer net skirt glistening with silver sequins, and a see-through cape tossed around her shoulders.

Ashley’s top was comprised of chunky black straps wrapped around her waist, revealing swathes of her tanned skin, and a black bra-piece with a plunging neckline.
Wrapping her brunette tresses into elaborate curls atop her head, the star sizzled on the red carpet with tiny gold hoops glinting in her ears and her curvaceous thighs visible under her skirts.
Ashley opted for winged eyeliner and a glossy peach lip as she strutted her stuff.
Jamie Lee Curtis also brought the glam in a glistening silver frock which skimmed the floor, featuring a whale-bone corset wrapped around her bust.
