EastEnders' Slater family dealt fresh blow as fans fear Stacey is set for prison

EastEnders viewers are convinced Stacey Slater is once again headed for the slammer.

Stacey has been struggling for money in recent weeks, especially after the break in at the bap van.

Things got even worse when Ryan Malloy reduced his child maintenance payments as a way to get back at Stacey and daughter Lily after their argument.

During a cleaning gig with her mum, Jean, Stacey was tempted by a large amount of cash she found in a cupboard.

She took the money to pay for her broken fridge and new school uniform for Lily, but was riddled with guilt.

On tonight’s episode (March 13) Stacey confessed her crime to Jean and now fans believe she’s set for a stint behind bars.

“Does Stacey think she will get away with stealing money? The office will investigate who was last in the room. She’s off to the slammer again,” predicted one viewer.

“Oh don’t worry even though there’s a prison stop gap coming up she’s gotta be back by Christmas right,” said another, while a third echoed: “Jean not wanting Stacey to go to prison, she’s speaking for the nation # EastEnders.”

On tonight’s episode she was seen enlisting Jean’s help and making a plan to return the money by distracting security guard Alan.

But when Alan caught her putting the money back in the box, he told her he didn’t mind and asked her out on a date.

She denied taking the money and hesitantly agreed to go out with him. He then asked if he could kiss her, to which she told him no, before he leaned if for a smooch.

She then attacked him in defence and ran off.

Later in the episode, Callum was seen asking Stacey to come into the station tomorrow morning to give a statement, and warned her that if she doesn’t show up, she’ll likely be headed for prison.

Last month, Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw spoke out on the storyline, revealing that she was just trying to help her family.

“Stacey finds herself doing something she’s never done before in an effort to protect her family and unborn grandchild.”
