Eamonn Holmes has shared an emotional tribute to his late mum ahead of Mother’s Day, with the GB News host reflecting on how much he loved her.
The Northern Irish journalist, who currently works for GB News, sadly lost his mother Josephine in November 2022. She was aged 93.
Ahead of Mothering Sunday, Eamonn, 63, took to his Instagram page to share a sweet video of his mum, with a very touching caption to accompany the clip.

“This is my first year without a Mother on Mother’s Day,” he began.
“But I did an interview last year where I said how much I loved her. How glad I am I did.”
He then referred to the video when he added: “As you can see she seemed pretty happy. If you still have a Mum. Give her a hug from me and don’t forget her tomorrow.”
The video clip saw his mum, who he fondly referred to as Josie, reading aloud from a newspaper while grinning and saying: “And I love you too.”
Touched by the post, former ITV colleague Saira Khan wrote: “Love her,” in the comments section.
While TalkTV’s Vanessa Feltz touchingly penned: “Sending you so much love. This is my 18th year without my beautiful mother. She was just 57 when she passed away. I miss her every day. Huge hugs my darling friend.”
This Morning host and new GBBO co-host Alison Hammond added: “Thinking of you.”
While fans and friends also flooded the comments section with well wishes and support for the broadcaster.
At the time of Eamonn’s mum’s passing last November, he took to social media to break the sad news to his followers, with him writing: “My four amazing brothers and I said goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon.
“She’s at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation.”
Eamonn’s dad Leonard, died of a heart attack while driving at the age of 64.
