EastEnders star Alfie Deegan has been supported by his former co-stars after sharing career news away from acting.
Liam Butcher was played by James Forde from 2008 until 2015 before the role was recast to Alfie for a short stint in 2021.
The character returned to Albert Square from Germany, where he was living with his dad, Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen), to support his sister Tiffany Butcher, played by Maisie Smith, following her split from Keegan Barker (Zack Morris).

His return led to the exit of Tiffany as both characters headed back to Germany to start a new life.

Two years after his soap exit, it seems the actor is now pursuing a career in music as he shared a video of himself freestyling on Instagram.
“This is just the beginning,” he captioned the clip. “This one’s for you pops, I told you I’ll make it one way or another and I’m gonna do just that.”
Alfie’s former former co-star Danny Dyer, who left the soap at Christmas after 10 years of playing Mick Carter, commented two fire emojis underneath the video.

“Big love Dan,” responded the ex-soap star.
While Dotty Cotton actress Milly Zero also shared her support by leaving a folded hands and pink heart emoji alongside the clip.
After leaving the BBC soap, Alfie continued acting as he went on to appear in an episode of Britbox drama The Chelsea Detective in 2022.
This year, he starred as Flynn in drama film Silver Haze which follows a nurse who seeks revenge after being caught in a fire when she was a child.

After his short stint as Liam, it was revealed Alfie had returned to his normal job on a construction site.
Sharing a video on his Instagram, the actor was stood on a rooftop while his colleague could be seen laying down a cable and wearing a hi-vis jacket.
“Back to basics” he captioned the clip.
