Amanda Holden's dad mortified after 'losing underpants' on show during huge storm

Amanda Holden’s step-father watched his underpants blow away in a tornado when he visited her and Alan Carr on their property show.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge joined forces with the Chatty Man presenter for BBC series Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job, in which they fixed up a rundown apartment in a town in Sicily.

According to Alan, Amanda’s dad Leslie – who had arrived to help them with the renovation – lost his underpants when a storm blew up over the Mediterranean.

He explained: “There was a mini-tornado. And Amanda Holden ’s dad’s pants blew off out of the window.

“That’s what happened – I hadn’t fallen asleep watching Carry On Abroad! He’s from the West Country.

“He went, ‘Alan my knickers blew off out the window in a mini torrr-nado!’ You couldn’t write it.”

The two €1 flats, transformed into one apartment by the pair, went on sale last month for £127,500. The proceeds were split between Comic Relief and Children In Need.

Amanda and Alan’s TV show gained an incredible amount of support when it aired and will now come back for a second season, reports claim.

A source told The Sun last month: “It’s so hard for new TV shows to make an impact, but the ratings have been incredible and Amanda and Alan’s chemistry is undeniable.

“To think the pair of them had the idea themselves during lockdown and are now planning series two is a dream come true for them both.

“There are still logistics, timings and details to sort but, all being well, they’ll be officially announcing the news soon.”

The renovation of their flat managed to get enough attention from the first series as the pair focused on DIY as the duo undertook all jobs from plastering to plumbing on the property.

Amanda and Alan were seen taking on a bedroom each as they tackled the kitchen and living room together in one epic transformation.

Amanda said at the time: “It’s gorgeous! Even though our tastes are very different, it’s got a really lovely flow. I feel a bit sad it’s done. I really love it.”
