Paddy McGuinness shares rare insight into home life after Christine marriage split

Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness has shared a rare insight into how he’s coping with parenting after his split from ex-wife Christine McGuinness.

The 49-year-old presenter shares Penelope, Leo and Felicity with the model who he broke up with in July last year.

Christine and their three kids have autism, a struggle which Paddy and Christine opened up about in their latest BBC documentary.

During his chat with The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas about his new Channel 4 show Tempting Fortune, Jermaine asked what Paddy would be tempted by and he revealed that it would be “the little things.”

“Weirdly for me I think it is tea and coffee,” he said. “I’ve got three kids, I’ve got to have at least four coffees in the morning.”

“Parents out there will know exactly what I mean, I’ve got to have it!” he laughed. “God knows how I’d going on doing that.””I can go without burgers and things like that but tea and coffee – it’s the little things,” Paddy said and Alex swiftly agreed.

Paddy’s new show Tempting Fortune will see 12 strangers give up all luxuries to endure a gruelling 18-day trek across the South African wilderness as they attempt to reach a shared £300,000 prize at the finish line.

A TV insider told the Sun that new presenting gig would be “good fortune” for Paddy, with bosses at Channel 4 and potential viewers excited for his new role.

“It’s a glossy, big-budget show with human relationships at its heart and a quirky twist – the sort of television Channel 4 does so well and everyone is excited about Paddy fronting it. He remains hugely popular with viewers.”

Paddy updated his INstagram followers bout his new job as he shared that he’d been out in South Africa working on set.

“Had an amazing few days in South Africa,” he wrote. “Working on something really exciting but what a treat to see some wildlife out there. Giraffes, Monkeys, Hippos and these couple of chancers living their best life on the beach!”
